Tea Talks: Wednesday 10/19/2016

Hello Lovelies!

Guess who officially finished signing paperwork and went in to do computer training today. ME! Yayyyyyy!!!!! I went in this morning and started everything. After I was done, I waited until my new friend was off work (she is a new hire too and was training on the floor today) and then we went on a walk. We went to a little gas station and then some guy tried flirting with me then she was driven home by a friend and I just walked away.... Okay, that was a pointless thing to detail... but that's okay. :)

I feel like my life is going to start moving forward and that I'm going to be really be doing something with my time.

This Saturday I should be going to Salem and be going to orientation. I'm not going to be enjoying this drive, but at least it's the only time I'll be making it.

Oh, I found an AMAZING tattoo artist that I'm going to be booking an appointment with soon. She seems super nice and professional (we've been e-mailing back and forth) and I'm super excited.

Thank you guys for just reading and commenting every once in a while. While it would be cool to have a lot of communication and activity on my blog, I love and appreciate the communication and activity that does exist. If you think we'd get along and think we could be friends, feel free to contact me and spark a conversation through one of the places listed in my "follow me" tab. :)

Tea Talks: Sunday 10/15/2016

Hello Lovelies.

Today I feel like being completely honest with you guys: I have had a few blogs start and end within a couple months in the past and I REALLY don't want to do that with this blog. That's why I've been trying to stick to a schedule.

I plan on sitting down at least twice a week and write. Sundays and Wednesdays are already designated blogging days, so those will probably end up being the days I just write.

So, an actual update on life: I still haven't begun work. In fact, I'm not officially hired yet either. The website/program used to hire at Safeway has been acting up and has been giving me issues with my profile, so I haven't been able to finish the hiring paperwork. I was supposed to go to orientation today in Salem, but again, I haven't finished the paperwork so I couldn't go. I'm honestly a little bit frustrated, BUT as I now realize the pants that I bought myself for work from Goodwill don't fit at all.... I am so freaking relieved. (Side note, I bought a Venus Fly Trap to eat these darn fruit fly gnat things... WHY IS IT NOT DOING ITS JOB???)

Hopefully, this week will work out for me and I will be able to start work soon. WISH ME LUCK LOVELIES!

XOXO - Sarah

P.s. I will definitely try to start putting more photos in my posts. I know that sometimes it's not as fun to just read with nothing to just LOOK at. I get it. :) Today I included a photo of Starbucks cups because... well I'm about to start working there. :)

Tea Talks: Sunday 19/9/2016

Hello Lovelies!

Today's post will be a lot like my recent ones in the way that it's going to be short.

I am starting work, not this Monday, but the next. So that's awesome.

Yep. That's about it. :)

Tea Talks: Wednesday 10/5/2016

HELLOOOOO Lovelies!

I am in a pretty good mood as I write this. Tomorrow my collectors edition of Harry Potter books should be coming in the mail and I. Am. STOKED!!! I watched all the HP movies recently and am so obsessed! By the way, I am a Ravenclaw.

I am really looking forward to getting to know the character of Luna Lovegood. She seems like someone that would be my best friend. Actually, my best friend is a lot like her from what I have seen and heard. To the right is the picture of said friend and myself. (I'm the one in the black jacket, of course)

I have to get some clothes for work whenever Jay gets paid next. It should be simple and cheap. Black pants and two black polo shirts. I'm not too worried.

Anyways, I have very little to do. But I am busy to do it.

Tea Talks: Wednesday 9/21/2016

Hello Lovelies!

Today, I actually have something worth updating you all on.

I got a call yesterday from the hiring manager at Safeway and she said she was looking at my application and that I should finish applying so she can do a formal interview. I hope that means that she is interested in me.

That's about it. I don't really have time to talk because I'm really busy today. I still wanted to make a post, though.

Tea Talks: Sunday 9/18/2016

Hello Lovelies!

Today, I actually have tea to drink while typing this up! It's called Mint Majesty and it's by Teavana. I picked it up when I went to Starbucks this morning. Normally, I don't like Starbucks, but I was in my pj pants and didn't want to go somewhere nice looking like that. Yeah, Starbucks can be nice, but in this town... it's eh.

Random funny story. Ready? My hubby is starting college this next week. That's not the funny part. He is starting college next week and it hadn't even occurred to him that he might need notebooks, pencils and a calculator. *sigh* How would he survive without me?

Things I want/need to do this week:

  • Actually finish cleaning my room
  • Continue job searching
  • Actually schedule at least 2 non-tea talks posts
Things I hope for this week:
  • We get the rest of our check
  • I get called for an interview anywhere I applied
So... yeah. There's not much on my mind right now. I'm a bit sick so I'm trying to relax so I don't get sicker. Which will happen if I don't just CHILL.

Oh, and the tea? SO GOOD! OH MY GOD IT IS SOOOO GOOD. I love mint teas. I have currently 3 containers of different mint teas with one coming in the mail. I'm OBSESSED.

Also, the website for Paypal isn't responding. I think that may be a sign.

Anyways, much love to you guys! I've already scheduled the next Ear Stretching 101 post for this Thursday (I CANNOT believe that I forgot it last week!!!) so you have that to look forward to! :)

XOXO!!! Sarah

Books I Want to Read This Fall/Winter

Hello Lovelies!

I hope you’re having a good September so far! At this point I’m sure most of you are about to start classes (or already have. I don’t know who reads my blog yet) and thus are preparing to read. A lot.

I am not attending any classes this year but still want to keep up with my reading. So… I wanted to share what I plan on reading this fall/winter! I’d love, love, LOVE it if you would share your thoughts on the following books if you’ve read them/are planning on reading them too!

P.s….. Don’t make fun of me for the first thing on this list. I wasn’t allowed to read this series while I was living at home so it’s my first time.

  • Harry Potter series
  • Lord of the Rings series
  • Eragon series
  • Sherlock Holmes series

I want to read the first and last series listed the most. I already own the collective Sherlock series by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle so I won’t have to buy those. I will however have to buy all the Harry Potter books as I’ve never owned (or read) them. I’ve read all but one book for the other two series.

I know that this is a super short post, but I figured that it was a pretty straightforward thing.

Like I said earlier, I’d LOVE to hear what you’re planning on reading this cold season and if you’ve read anything I’ve listed before. Also, if you recommend a book or series for me to read, I’d definitely check it out.

XOXO!!! Sarah

My Wardrobe Goals

Hello Lovelies!

I have been so obsessed with my wardrobe as of late because I just moved back to Oregon from having lived in Texas for 2 years and I am simply NOT prepared for a northern winter.

I am also trying to minimize my wardrobe from the massive amount of clothes that I have that don’t fit or I just never wear. Seriously girl, I could super easily stock a boutique with all the clothes I have and have gotten rid of. It’s kind of embarrassing.

Today I am going to talk about (ok I’m going to list) the things that I want to adorn my wardrobe with. I want to say ahead of time that I’m not wanting to be all out, super strict minimalist with my wardrobe forever. I’m just doing that for now because, to be honest with you, I am freaking broke and can only afford the basics at this moment. Plus, if I have a strong foundation of basics in my wardrobe, I will have an easier time building on those basics later.

Oh, and all I’m going to be listing below is fall/winter/spring (basically not hot weather) clothes. I just hate hot weather (thank you Texas for ruining what used to be my favorite season) and don’t like to even think about shopping for that weather. Ok, moving on from my weird issues. ;)

I will be separating what I want in my wardrobe into categories: TOPS, BOTTOMS, OUTERWEAR, SHOES, ACCESSORIES, and a subcategory of CLUB/FORMAL WEAR. I will mark what I already have with an asterisk (*).

TOPS
  • Black Tee
  • White Tee *
  • Black and White Striped Tee (x2) */
  • Graphic Tees *
  • Black Tank
  • White Tank
  • Graphic Tanks *
  • Black Sweater (Crew Neck)
  • Gray Sweater (Crew Neck)
  • Mustard Sweater (Crew Neck)
  • Maroon Sweater (Crew Neck)
  • Black Sweater (Turtle Neck)
  • Black and White Striped Long Sleeve Top
  • Black Cardigan *
  • Ravenclaw Cardigan
  • Maroon Cardigan
  • Mustard Cardigan
  • Red Flannel
  • Rust Flannel

BOTTOMS
  • Black Skinny Jeans
  • Light Wash Skinny Jeans
  • Black Skinny Jeans (Torn)
  • Light Wash Skinny Jeans (Torn)
  • Mustard Skinny Jeans
  • Black Skirt (A-Line)

OUTERWEAR
  • Black Faux Leather Jacket *
  • Green Anorak Jacket *
  • Jean Jacket *
  • Oregon Hoodie
  • Black Trench Coat
  • The North Face Jacket (Any color)

SHOES
  • Black Doc Martens Boots
  • Cherry Doc Martens Boots
  • Black Fancy Flat Boots *
  • Black Heeled Boots *
  • Black Ballet Flats
  • Black Hi-Top Converse *
  • White Lo-Top Converse *
  • Black Lo-Top Converse
  • White Hi-Top Converse
  • Yellow Hi-Top Converse
  • Patterned Converse *
  • Colorful Converse *

ACCESSORIES
  • Black Beanie
  • Mustard Beanie
  • Maroon Beanie
  • Black Rimmed Hat
  • Thick Scarves (Any Colors)
  • Black Leg Warmers *

CLUB/FORMAL WEAR
  • Little Black Dress
  • Formal Shirt *
  • Formal Pants *

Yep. I suppose you notice that the shortest categories are the accessories and club/formal wear. I don’t wear accessories except for in the winter. No, really. I don’t like jewelry or other accessories. I just recently started actually carrying a purse. A PURSE. That is like crazy for me and makes me feel like I’m finally a grown up!

I still haven’t gone shopping yet (we get paid on Wednesday maybe). When I have finished shopping, I’ll probably make a post about what I got! I hope that’s interesting. XD

Please, let me know down in the comment section what you want your future wardrobe to be like or if you already have your dream wardrobe! XOXO!!! Sarah

Tea Talks: Sunday 9/11/2016

Hello Lovelies!

Man, this week has been the busiest week I've had in what feels like ages! Mind you, it hasn't been THAT busy, but considering I'm used to sleeping for nearly 16 hours a day every day for 2.5 years, it's been a lot. I've been getting around 8 hours of sleep every night/early morning (I can't help that I'm a night owl) and I've been running errands around town as well as completely re-doing my bedroom!

Ok lets jump in!

This week I want/need to:

  • Finish re-arranging the bedroom
  • Apply to Wal-Mart (I know. I just keep putting it off)
  • Apply to Papa Murphy's
  • Check on my application to the 79 gas station (Tuesday)
  • Fill out the Student Loan Repayment Plan/Debt Assistance thing
This week I hope to:
  • Go see my best friend in Portland
  • Get a call back from either gas station or the coffee shop
  • Get all my clothes shopping done
I also have devised a posting plan that is even better than before! I have lots of topics that I'm wanting to talk about, but some aren't going to occur every week. The only posts I PROMISE to never miss are Tea Talks on Sunday and Wednesday as well as whatever series posts I'm doing on Thursday. Otherwise, these certain topics will be posted on these certain days!

Sunday: Tea Talks
Monday: Makeup
Tuesday: Fashion
Wednesday: Tea Talks
Thursday: Series Posts
Friday: Media Topic (Books/Movies/T.V. Shows, Music etc)
Saturday: Personal Topics

As always, thank you for reading and feel free to say hello!

XOXO!!! Sarah

Tea Talks: Wednesday 9/7/2016

Hello Lovelies!

Today is officially the middle of the week and that means that an update on the week is in order.

Things I got done so far this week:
  • Finish going through things and organizing my bedroom (almost done)
  • Apply to Wal-Mart and Safeway (I'm currently looking for a job)(not done)
  • Get a drink with Jay (my husband) (on Friday)
  • Get together with Kelsey (one of my best friends) (yep!)
  • Memorize drink recipes in case I'm called for an interview (all memorized)
Things I am hoping for this week:
  • Get a call back from the coffee shop I love so much that I applied to (They're hiring! I had to jump on that. More about that and the place later.) (Haven't gotten called yet)
  • Get a call back from Center Market (corner store I applied to) (Haven't gotten called yet)
  • Find my favorite coat and favorite interview worthy heels (Still nowhere to be found)
Now I figured out that I am missing my social security card as well. Holy crap, right? So I have to go to the social security office asap and report it and try to get a new one... Not looking forward to that one because the closest office is in Salem and that office is always SO BUSY. I mean they all are but still.

I have a couple things for y'all to look forward to in the next few weeks, starting tomorrow, because I'm starting a series! It will be on body modifications. Specifically ear stretching. I'll post once a week on Thursdays until the series is over and all questions I may get are answered. :) So let me know if you have any specific questions!

XOXO!!! Sarah

Going Minimal and How

Hello Lovelies!

Recently I have decided that I want to reduce the amount of stuff that I have. This includes clothes. For me, that is a big deal! Like... really big. I just went through all my clothes that I own this last week and boy... I had SO MUCH STUFF! Like... SO MUCH. Most of the clothes I have I don't like anymore or it simply doesn't fit anymore. So basically, I pulled out some trash bags and got busy.

I had 2 bags of clothes that were ruined or for some other reason couldn't be donated.
I had 2 bags of clothes that I knew my best friend would like.
I had 3 bags of clothes that I plan on selling or donating.
I had 2 bags of clothes that I am storing because they're for summer time (it's getting cold fast now) or because they were REALLY expensive or have sentimental value and I hope to lose enough weight to fit into them later.
That is NINE BAGS of things I am not keeping/giving away/not wearing.

I kept 10 items. 2 tank tops, 4 tee shirts, 1 interview shirt, 1 pair of interview pants, 1 flannel, 1 sweater.

I have bought a couple staple pieces since then, but I'll talk about that during another post (once I get pretty much all the staples that I need).

I figure that I'll end this post with how I got through all those clothes and how I decided what stays and what goes. It's really simple, honestly. Lets get to it!

1. Wash all your clothes
2. Grab a roll of trash bags
3. Lay out all your clothes in a big pile
4. Lay out 3 bags and save a space for clothes you're going to keep
5. Ask yourself: Is it too damaged to wear? If yes, put in the bag for garments you're throwing away
6. Ask yourself: Is it too small? Is it in wearable condition? (i.e. not stained or torn where it shouldn't be torn etc) Will I ever wear this again/do I like it/does it have sentimental value? If it's too small, is in wearable condition, and you don't think you'll wear it again/it has no sentimental value, put it in the donation bag.
7. Ask yourself: Am I throwing it away or donating it? Does it fit? Is it for the wrong season? Will I wear it again if I lose weight? Does it have sentimental value? If you're keeping it, it doesn't fit, but you want to wear it again if you lose weight/it becomes the season you can wear it, or it has sentimental value, put it in the storage bag.
8. Whatever you have left, you can go ahead and put away!

I hope that this is helpful to you if you're trying to minimize your wardrobe too!

Do you have any tips to share? Let me know in the comments!! I love hearing from you!

XOXO - Sarah

Tea Talks: Sunday 9/4/2016

Hello Lovelies!

Today is my first Sunday Tea Talks post, so forgive me if it's a bit of a roller coaster. Ok, buckle up because we're starting this ride, now. :)

This week I want/need to:

  • Finish going through things and organizing my bedroom
  • Apply to Wal-Mart and Safeway (I'm currently looking for a job)
  • Get a drink with Jay (my husband)
  • Get together with Kelsey (one of my best friends)
  • Memorize drink recipes in case I'm called for an interview
This week I hope to:
  • Get a call back from the coffee shop I love so much that I applied to (They're hiring! I had to jump on that. More about that and the place later.)
  • Get a call back from Center Market (corner store I applied to)
  • Find my favorite coat and favorite interview worthy heels
My weekend has been pretty good so far. I got mad at Jay on Friday but ended up working it out by time he got off work (communication is so important people!!!) then we went out for a drink. As soon as we got home we knocked out. Saturday was spent doing errands and the sort and was his first day off since starting at Wal-Mart. It was nice to see him for more than a couple hours that day.

I'll update you guys on Wednesday on how I'm doing with my goals and if anything I've hoped for has happened! Until next time!

XOXOXO!!!
